Meeting called to order by Mr. Nelson at 5:30 p.m. Board members present: Nate Nelson, Rita Stewart, Carol Williams, Library Director Traci Lund. Present remotely via Microsoft Teams: Commissioner Isaac Jacobs. Absent: Mike Melgaard
Minutes were reviewed. Motion to approve the minutes from May 30, 2024, made by Ms. Williams, seconded by Ms. Stewart. Motion passed.

Financials: Bills are going out and grant payments are coming in. Received DPI $15,000 grant to go towards the purchase of bookshelves, tables, and shelf coverings.
Librarian’s Report: Book fair will be held in October. The library is participating in a cultural event in November. Mural by Ms. Taleah Zaugg of Dakota by Design is finished. Teague’s Interior, Nikkita Haugenoe, donated two chairs to the library and Ms. Zaugg generously painted them in the mural theme.
Two high school students and paraprofessional clean books for the library. Ms. Lund is applying for a grant from the Williston Foundation for copier/computer upgrades. A way to honor the memory of Gavin Dimmick and use the funds donated by the Wishart Family is beginning to progress.
Mary Soucie, the State Librarian, visited the Divide County library. Along with discussing policies and seeing our library, she helped with the Back-to-School Party Bash. The library took part in a community promotional video. Ms. Lund will attend the State Library meeting in October.
Old Business: Renovation Update – More shelving has been ordered.
New Business: Reviewed the Computer Use Policy, Internet Access Policy, and the Internet Access Sign-In/Computer Rules. New Board Member Orientation Guide discussed. Motion made by Ms. Williams to put the New Board Member Orientation Guide in place, seconded by Ms. Stewart. Motion carried.
An annual review of the Library Director was discussed.
Personnel Policy Supplemental Handbook was updated. Motion to implement the Personnel Policy Supplemental Handbook made by Ms. Stewart, seconded by Ms. Williams. Motion passed.
Dolly Parton Imagination Library: Ms. Lund has not heard back from the Oneok or NCA grants. The governor is again paying half of the bill through April 2025.
The NWDNCF grant of $1,000 will go to the S.T.E.M. closet.
The library took part in a vulnerability study. Pleased with the policies and safety measures in place. Ms. Lund and the school administration are looking into cameras and other items to improve security.
Grammarly, which has some AI functions, was bought for $144 this year and has been useful.

The copier needs to be replaced. Advance Business Methods has a Reman copier for $3,280 and a maintenance contract for $47.59/month. Leasing a copier would be over $5,000 and $54.17 a month.
