Divide County Library Board Meeting – May 28, 2025
The meeting was called to order by Mr. Nelson at 5:20 p.m.
Board Members Present: Nate Nelson, Rita Stewart, Carol Williams, and Library Director Traci Lund. Absent: Isaac Jacobs and Mike Melgaard
Minutes from March 26, 2025, were reviewed. Motion to approve by Ms. Stewart seconded by Ms. Williams. Motion carried.
Librarian’s Report – Ms. Lund is interested in starting the 1,000 books before kindergarten program. The first day of Summer Reading was a success. In June, Ms. Lund, a member of the North Dakota Library Coordinating Council, will travel to Jamestown for meetings and a tour of the State Hospital’s library.
Old Business
Legislation concerning the library was vetoed by Governor Armstrong.
New Business
Financials and 2026 Budget were reviewed. The copier is no longer a separate budget but is now included in the general budget. Motion to approve investment fund as presented made by Mr. Nelson, seconded by Ms. Stewart. Motion carried.
Motion to approve the 2026 general budget as presented with a requested mill levy of $140,000 and for Divide County Library employees pay raises and longevity to match raises made by Divide County for all employees made by Ms. Williams, seconded by Mr. Nelson. Motion passed with all in favor. Mike Melgaard has resigned from the Divide County Library Board due to health and personal responsibilities. Ms. Lund will discuss the appointment of a new board member with the county commissioners.
Motion to adjourn by Ms. Williams, seconded by Ms. Stewart. Meeting adjourned at 6:01 p.m.
