DIVIDE COUNTY LIBRARY SPECIAL BOARD MEETING – June 10, 2024
Meeting called to order by Mr. Nelson at 7:30 a.m. Board members present: Commissioner Isaac Jacobs, Nate Nelson, Rita Stewart, Carol Williams, Library Director Traci Lund. Absent: Mike Melgaard
2025 General Budget
The assistant library position will be reduced to part-time before September. Ms. Anderson will work part-time after school, some mornings and as needed.
Four mills is the max levy the library may request. The library decreased its reserves this past year and will need a few years to build it back up. The library will request $140,000 for the 2025 budget.
Motion to approve 2025 Budget made by Mr. Jacobs, seconded by Ms. Stewart. Motion passed unanimously.
Juneteenth Day is on a Wednesday this year. This conflicts with Wednesday’s regularly scheduled Storytime and Summer Reading. Mr. Jacobs stated that holidays should be taken by county departments on the designated days. Ms. Lund will move the activities to another day.
Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Ms. Williams, seconded by Ms. Stewart. Meeting adjourned at 7:45 a.m. Next Meeting: August TBD
