DIVIDE COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD MEETING – March 25, 2024
Meeting called to order by Mr. Nelson at 5:15 p.m. Board members present: Mike Melgaard, Nate Nelson, Rita Stewart, Carol Williams. Library Director Traci Lund and John Bayer, resident. Absent: Commissioner Isaac Jacobs
Minutes from the January 10, 2024 meeting were read. Motion to approve made by Ms. Stewart, seconded by Mr. Melgaard. Motion passed.
Financials reviewed.
Librarian’s report to be covered in old and new business.
Old Business: Coordinating Council Grants – $12,600 for replacement of carpet. The remaining balance of $7,095.18 will be split between the library and Divide County School District. School will pay the first installment of $3,547.59. Grant money will be received when the project is completed.
Renovation: John Andrist Grant to help with renovation costs. Security grant of $9,950 for key fob access to the interior doors.
Carpet and shelving renovation work has started with the packing of shelves. Sound recordings will be weeded and boxed up. Teagan’s Interiors will begin installing carpet in mid-May. Shelving will be offered to the following entities in the order listed: Divide County School, residents (via Facebook post), and other libraries. If not claimed, shelving will be disposed of.
Annual Report is done. 2023 Highlights were reviewed.
New Business: Ms. Lund answered questions about renewals and lost books.
Reviewed Circulation Policy. Motion to continue using Circulation Policy Amended 9-17-2021 made by Ms. Williams, seconded by Ms. Stewart. Motion passed.
Lockdown Procedures Policy was reviewed and revised. Motion made to accept the Lockdown Procedures Policy with changes made by Ms. Williams, seconded by Ms. Stewart. Motion passed.
Motion to adjourn the meeting made by Ms. Williams, seconded by Ms. Stewart.
