DIVIDE COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD MEETING – January 10, 2024
Meeting was called to order by Mr. Nelson at 5:30 p.m. Board members present: Mike Melgaard, Nate Nelson, Rita Stewart, Carol Williams, Isaac Jacobs, and Library Director Traci Lund.
Minutes from the December 11, 2023 meeting were read and approved.
Financials reviewed. The 2023 budget was overbudget due to the hiring of an additional full-time employee in June. The 2024 budget planned for this increase.
Librarian’s report: Annual report for State Library and federal government should be out February 1st. PLS (Public Library Survey) needs to be completed. Ms. Lund is submitting 3 grants to the State Library. Ms. Lund is a trainer for Summer Reading.
Old Business: Librarians have been trained by ODIN to catalogue the books and it is going very well. Ms. Lund will apply for Coordinating Council Grants to assist in paying for the carpet and upgrading security. The John and Elaine Andrist Grant will be used to cover other items in 2024.
New Business: Election of Officers – Mr. Jacobs nominated Mr. Nate Nelson as President, Ms. Rita Stewart as Vice President, Ms. Carol Williams as Secretary. Mr. Melgaard seconded it. All present voted in favor.
Reconsideration Policy and Display and Distribution of Community Materials Policy were reviewed.
Meeting ended at 6:00 p.m.
