DIVIDE COUNTY LIBRARY BOARD MEETING – March 23, 2022

Meeting called to order at 5:10 p.m. by Krista Verlinde, Library Board President.  The following board members were present: Marissa Ratcliffe, Commissioner Tim Selle,  Rita Stewart, Carol Williams, Krista Verlinde, and Librarian Traci Lund.

A motion to approve the January 18, 2022 meeting minutes as presented was made by Tim and seconded by Marissa. Motion passed with all in favor.

Financial report.  State aid has changed from quarterly to monthly deposits. 

Librarian’s Report

JNF Weeding is done.  Children are checking out more nonfiction books as a result.

Diversity Audit is in the planning phase.

Strategic Plan Update – State librarian, Mary Soucie, is coming to Divide County library to see in person how our library cooperates with the school. 

110 years celebration plans are proceeding.  Traci has met with Erin Sorum.  Plans are to have the celebration on Saturday of the Threshing Bee with cake and Rita suggested a Tic Tac Toe game.

Old Business

ND State Library Grant – Tierany Johnson sent a clip to Traci and the local history video is coming along very well.

Annual Report is completed.  It will be presented at the July 6, 2022 county commissioner  meeting.

New Business

Summer reading planning is almost complete.  Bingo cards are planned to engage tweens and teens with an automatic prize for completion.  Adults will have checklists to compete for prizes.

Jesse Veeder an author from the Watford City area may come for a book reading and signing.  Traci applied for the Burke Divide Round Up grant to cover half the $500 fee.

Greg Forbes Seigman is an author of a book the Book Club has been reading.  He is having a virtual question and answer book discussion with the club on April 11th at 5:15 p.m.

Inventory is completed.  Book inventory will most likely begin soon.

Meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m. Motion made by Carol and seconded by Marissa.
