SUMMER READING!!!

Don’t forget about Summer Reading!!!

Summer reading is upon us! This years adventures will take us into the great out doors…camping inside that is. Dream Big Read! Is the theme that will be leading us on our journey with special ventures. Each week we will read books on our sub-theme, have an activity, a snack and you never know what else is up our sleeves. Make sure to have your children fill out there reading minutes time sheets to earn prizes throughout our program. The top 3 children with the most minutes read will receive an amazing prize!! Summer reading be every Wednesday in June from 1pm to 2pm. All ages are welcome to attend we ask that kids younger then 6 are accompanied by an adult. 

Our first week, June 6th we will start our expedition into “Dreams and Wishes” where we will read books about dreams and wishes and make glow in the dark stars to hang over our tent. We will also make a chalk starry night drawing on the sidewalk with glow in the dark chalk so make sure to swing over and check out our masterpiece!

 June 13th “Night Adventures” we will be taking a look at the moon. Our stories will launch us to learn about the moon and all the interesting facts about space! Along with our fun activity make sure you don’t miss out on our Oreo moon phase snack this week.

 Wednesday, June 20th will be a HOOT with “Night Owls” as our theme. We will explore nocturnal animals such as bats, owls, fireflies and many other animals that are starting there day as we go to sleep. Pine cone owls and flying bat hands will add to our camping theme this week.

 It’s sleepover time! Stuffed animal sleep over that is for our theme of “Night Night”. Wednesday, June 27h bring your favorite stuffed animal to sleep over in the library! Make sure to remember anything that will make them feel comfortable during the night without you. We will be going fishing, taking a bear hunt, making s’mores and more!

 We will finish off our program on Wednesday July 4th with “Lights Out, Nights Out”. This week we will be experimenting with glow in the dark activities from glow in the dark slime to black out drawings. Plus we will handing out the PRIZES to the children with the most reading minutes!!!
